Jake is Different: A friendly guide to Autism by Rosita Bird

‘Jake was a little boy who had just started his first day at school. Jake was nearly 5 years old. He was keen to make sure that on his way to school, he walked on the full pavement, and not on the joins or cracks., all the way to school with his mum. Jake had always avoided the joins as soon as he was aware of them. Jake was a very tidy boy at home and made sure everything was in a set place, especially his cars, they were always lined up.’ This is a children’s book and also a guide for parents, guardians and teachers on autism. The foreword is from Jeanette Purkis an author who has Aspergers and a keen speaker and advocate on autism.
